How to verify a QR code before you trust the link

Phone cameras open URLs with almost no context. For QRalo codes, verification checks the cryptographic signature and status first.

Steps

    Open the verifier

    Use qralo.com/scan or follow a link that goes to qralo.com/verify.

    Scan or load the code

    Point your camera at the printed QR, or let the verify page process the signed payload.

  3. 3

    Read the result

    Valid signature, expected issuer, and active status — then continue. Failed signature, unknown issuer, expired, or revoked — stop.

What a “valid” result means

It means the code was issued through QRalo, the payload was not altered, and it has not been expired or revoked by the issuer.

It does not mean every website on the internet is safe. Optional URL-list checks only catch destinations already known as malicious.

If verification fails

  • Do not open the destination URL.
  • Ask the business for a fresh signed code.
  • Report a suspected sticker swap to the venue.
